I paid $400 for mine he paid $1,600 for his. Mine's got all kinds of custom stuff going on now though.

oooooo kaaaaayyyyyy...... did someone have a spare pocketbike or three? nothing like adding wieght to a heavy pig! The '78 is my favourite XL... with a little work and some parts you could have a very nice bike.

That triple muffler set-up is pretty crazy looking. Must have a huge bracket to hold up that weight. Any photo of the XT?

The XL350

Grrrr I know people wanna rip on the exhaust right off the bat. Guess what guys, it weighs 5lbs LESS than the stock exhaust! And TOTALLY outflows it. And it was all free to me! Came from 3 chinese 110cc dirt bikes, we used to import the things, I've got a garage full of chinese motorcycle parts.

I built it! I love to custom fabricate. Front fender: 06 KX100, Rear fender: 00 CR250, Side panels: 200cc chinese bike, Seat: 100cc chinese ATV lol, 3 110cc mufflers, new aftermarket dual sport headlight & taillight. A lot of welding done to the frame and the exhaust. FlameProof exhaust paint baked on. I've got some different handlebars, blinkers, etc to go on it too.

For next summer I'd like it to have: fully rebuilt motor with 450cc stroker kit, flat slide carb, new long travel rear shocks, new front forks with different wheel & disc brake.

I'll get a pic of my bro's XT I love that beast. He delivers pizza on it!

I'm just playing... youre bike is very intersting. I've wondered what they would look like with that headlight set up on them. if i ever get my 12v conversion tested i'm going to get one of those. did you just switch it to a 6v bulb?

Nice bike.

Headlight didn't work when I got the bike, still doesn't work. OMG 6v system it all makes so much sense now. (taillight worked but very dim) This project was kinda on hold anyway, other projects going on right now and I missed the season with the dirt bike. What should I paint white/black? (side panels and gas tank) Need to bondo the gas tank and I have white automotive paint.

Why stop at 3?!?! LOL...

Hey, if you love it - it's perfect!! Who cares what people think!

If it's at night and it backfires, do three flames shoot out? If so - it's worth it for sure!

Also, when you upgrade the tires, check out the Avon Distanzia's - they rock! I use 'em more for canyons, but they still have big enough logs on 'em.. :)
