Anyone know anything about these old girls? I just found one that runs, and is pretty decent condition. How hard are they to sell, and what are they worth?

That's a Honda model designation. The first official year for the 250 was 1974. It should have the green stripe on the center of the tank. Good running bikes in the day and didn't break much. Good stuff.

Any idea what this thing would be worth? The guy wants $1,000 for it. Not sure if I can make any money on it or not. It appears all stock, except for levers and grips. The tank has a couple of dents, but it runs and it all there.

Great condition maybe $1500. Good to fair shape $1000 to $500. Oh, they also had weak trans gears. The trick was putting in a 1975 tranny. :applause:

I just picked it up, got a little better deal on it. It seems to be pretty much all intact. Cleaned the points and now it has a nice spark. Now to clean the carb, the fuel was brown that came from the tank. It is a 73 model. It has been sitting for about 10 years total with the guy I picked it up from. I wish I had the time/money/patience to restore this thing, but it would end up just sitting and wasting away. Here is a couple of pictures of it: http://www.thequadbu...p?showtopic=299
Maybe I'll get it running, and let CROB race it at the next GNCC!

It looks like a deal. I had a 72 back in the old days, and I had to replace 3rd gear twice. I guess I should have used the clutch for other than just starts. I always heard of somebody, somewhere who figured our how to move a gear shim and cure the trans hunger for 3rd gears. He was probably a 1970's urban myth because I never found the person. I'd spring for the 75' trans and be done with it. They are killer vintage bikes. I sold one 5 years ago for a thousand dollars and wish I had it back today.
