Looks about like mine did, sent me home that way with an xray and said to see my own doctor.  Now that I know more about things I am glad things happened that way. As you know amnesia622 our injuries are very very similar, my personal opinion is breaking legs suck big time and should be avoided.

ER / 1 night hospital after surgery = in  total everyone put together tried billing for about $60k, settled for something like $12k (contracted amount? something like that), of which I paid something like $2k.  The truly crappy part is the guy who did all the work got under $1k for a 2 hour surgery.  I assume medical school costs $$$$$$.

Should have hopped on a plane to Houston.

I don’t know my regrets besides breaking it in the first place are not getting a rod since the rehab seems to be taking forever to be able to get back up on my toes. Where as I could have been weight bearing sooner. Although with a rod or not the fib took forever to heal so its a tough call. X-rays coming on the 27th we'll see where it’s at. As for now I'm limping around back in a normal shoe. The limp is cause I don’t have the strength to get on my toes but that’s getting better. Hoping I can meet my Feb 1 goal of being able to ride again.

Bummer my man. This is exactly why milk is better than beer. That things gonna swell for a while. (up to a year). I shattered the p out of my tib, fractured my fib back at the end of September. (Five screws and a plate.) It's been 10 weeks since my surgery and I just started walking with a cane last week. It gets really sore if I'm on it a lot though. I have been doing a lot of stretching since I had the hard cast removed. I do a lot of other exercising as well, including stationary biking. Not to mention a ton of other supplements.

I'm going to be trying out some "Cetylmax" supplement any day now. My mother-in-law swears by the stuff for her arthritis. Her Dr. was even stunned by the results. I'll let you know how that works out. Drink a couple of 8 oz. glasses of milk every day for sure though. Good luck. Don't ya just love those crutches?  Beware of wet surfaces!!!! I wouldn't want you to break something else.

Amnesia662.  Don't ride that pit bike yet.

I fractured my tib plateau and destroyed most of my cartilage in my knee on a Pitster Pro pit bike, and I was going slow in 2nd gear.
I am in my seventh month and I still can't walk with out pain and a limp.

Tried talking to her about that but she says I need a prescription before she can do that sort of thing.  You write prescriptions for that?

I'm staying off it. I'm down in Florida for a week and after xmas going to LA to visit friends. Trying to keep myself away from the bikes till feb.

One thing today that’s weird is for the first time it’s been aching at the point of the break. Any explanation?

Could  you show me an Xray that shows the knee joint.
that is a lot of metal.  I suspect you should have it out as the bone is quite healed from what I can see.

Hay it works, the pic came up.

DR. Mark, this is the only x-ray I have of my knee. I will be going to the doc on Jan 10th 07, and I will take some pics of the other x-rays.  I am going to see if he can put the 3D emage of my cat scan on cd.

If an plateau fracture is healed, then it can come out in as little as four months.  I have taken out at least 100 and never had a refracture.

Now if the plate isn't bothering a guy, it can stay in forever.

I had the surgery on Jun 10/06  I was no load bearing for four months do to the cartilage damage. Most of the cartilage in the center of my knee was damageed.  DR Cheng said he could not repair it.

There is two screws one behind the other on the right side and they are always itching and my knee is always sore.  I have pain in front and under my knee cap, It also looks like he grounded down some bone in the front of my tib because it's not the same as the other leg.  It's also possible that he did an acl repair.
