Trying to get an idea of the XT interest in this Vintage Forum. Of course you can see from my signature I ride 86 XT350. Any other XT riders care to post what they have/ride (125,350,500 etc)?

I have a 1981 XT250 and a 1985 XT350, the latter of which is ready to be buttoned up with a new piston/rings, freshly honed cylinder and valve guide seals, which I hope solves my horrible smoking problem!

Just picked up a 94 XT600, 1600 miles. Joined the forum Friday. Put over 100 miles on it Sunday. First time blasting through mud and dirt in over 20 years. Happy it rained this weekend. Still smiling.

XT 600 -88.
Used to have a XT 350 -86. Loved that little thing , she took me anywhere while living down in Cabo San Lucas.
Only thing was a slight lack of power, wich this 600 sorted out perfectly. =o)
Those XTs can take so much beating its insane , 20 yrs of abuse , and still running strong....

I visited Cabo 3 years back and sure wish I had my XT to rip down there. Living in Canada and simply visiting for a holiday, I spent huge money and drove one of the older Baja cars to try and satisfy my craving for Off-Road action. It was killer, but if only I had my XT............................

I used to have an 86 XT600 in 1987. Great dual sport ride, but a bit of a load.
Wouldn't mind another one for the fire roads.

I rode XT's from 1982 until 2003. I bought the first year XT200 and then the first year XT350 after wringing all the power possible out of that pathetic little 200. The 200 is still rotting in my garage. The 350 grenaded after 17 years of abuse and got eBayed into oblivion. Except for the piston that is. With the sideways valve shaped hole in that piston, it is just too cool to throw out.

Hi there Brent. Is the popularity of the XT and TT bikes huge out your way? Very few and far between out here in Winnipeg, Canada. I ventured to the XT350.com website and it looks like huge following but TT will be my only home until I can read the websites language.
Hey Chris,
XT/TT's are fairly popular here and still plentifull. I have two and a bit TT's and just picked up two SR500's for a couple of hundred dollars. One even has a big bore kit, hi comp piston etc. I've kept the motors and on sold the rest.
Both my TT's are race bikes and are used for VMX and modern MX. No VMX racing where I live so I have to travel.
Cheers
Brent

Hi all!
Chris, there are a few of us out here! I've got an '82 XT200 & an '83 XT550 right next to you in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Picked up the 200 a couple of years ago from a buddy, and bought an XT125 off Ebay in Dauphin, Manitoba to use for parts. Ended up using the rolling chassis of the 125 and the powertrain & suspension of the 200. Rode it for a couple of years around town & on the road allowances & grid roads, but found it was a little to small & weak for me. Insurance was a bargain though at $14.52 a month!! :ride:
This spring I picked up an XT550 from an aquaintance who had it sitting on his farm. Needed some work, but after tuning it up, sorting out the electrical and scavenging the signals off of the 200, I was off and running! The 550 is quite a bit heavier, but it sure holds it's own a lot better than the 200. Insurance is triple though... :excuseme:
The 550 is a great wheelie monster!
Later!
TFC
