Does anyone know if a 1983 XL600R front wheel will fit right on 1980- XL500? Will any changes be needed? What other wheels (drum brake) fit right on that are 21"?

Just trying to convert to 21" si I can get a tire. Plus, maybe get a 3.5" instead of orig. 3".

I could not put an 82 xl 21 on my 81. i assum the same is true for later years. the ear for the backing plate on the forks would not line up. The brake size is a little different and the backing plate would not interchange between the two wheels.
