So, wait a minute. Are those bikes actually 100% OEM? Or does that company take new OEM bikes and "convert" them into their image of what he bikes should/could be??

Kinda like those full-size van travel-RV-thingys. Ford/GM/Dodge makes the van but then some other company outfits it into the final product...

doubt that a bike like this is OEM - way too expensive for a Honda product. It would never sell at that price without being a niche product.

This looks like the old CRE250/260's that were done in the early 90's by Italian company.

Dont want to rain on anyones parade. But....

Where you guys been?

These kinds of bikes have been available in the USA for 7-12 years.

I have a XR440 in my garage-and its nicer than that one--its also a 9 year old bike! There are dozens of XR650r's in motard trim with the button and without here in SoCal. Have been for 5+ years.

Those arent "Production" bikes. Nice try. Those are bikes a Honda dealer in Italy made, photographed and put on their website.

And the prices? Retarded. You can get Baja Designs, XR's Only, Precision Concepts, BarnumsPro, Temecula Honda, Berkely Honda, (to name a few) to build you something MUCH nicer for that kind of money.

The Honda Dealer meeting is in a month. Only then will we see what (if anything) Honda has for '07 line up.

As for having the ES in cal for 5+ years, your referring to the ugly BD ones, aren't you ?

So in all your years of riding you never had moments or rather episodes that ES would have come in handy?

Well if this kit would become available in the USA it sure beats the BD one in looks.

look - here's one in Austria...

http://www.xr650r.at...sm/hondaSM.html

however....since I speak that language, I can give you the small print translation without consulting the silly babelfish:

Das ist die von HONDA zugelassene Supermotoversion der XR650R:

Die Honda XR650R Supermoto entsteht aus der Enduroversion. Alle Umbauten werden in die Einzelgenehmigung eingetragen und sind zugelassen. Die Enduroräder und alle anderen Teile werden mitgegeben, sind aber für den Straßenverkehr nicht mehr zugelassen.

Das Motorrad wird von uns umgebaut und e i n g e s t e l l t !!!

tranlate:

Is is a Honda-licensed Supermoto version of the XR650R:

The Honda XR650R Supermoto is born from the Enduro version. All modifications are entered into the papers and are street legal. The enduro wheels and all other parts are included, but those are not street legal.

This motorcycle is being converted and t u n e d by us.

so at least in Austria, this bike is a custom job by the dealer.

AHHH, come on, admit it, you would love to have ES . Kick starting is old school and not welcomed anymore. Face it, in 6,7,8 years those levers will be laughed at and some won't even know what it's for.
