Best sounding exhaust

Recommended Posts

Okay, I know you guys might be getting annoyed, I want to get a Leo vince, but I don't think they will sound good or be loud enough for me. I want an exhaust that sounds good. I know that my friend has a yz250f with an older big gun system and it sounds awsome. It is pretty loud but I do like it. I have a 450. Any suggestions. I have to get a slip on since i dont have that much money and i just bought a stock header. M4? FMF? Leo Vince? Pro Circuit? White Bros? yoshi?? I have to be under 350.......I want a pipe that gains everywhere concentrated on 2000-9000 rpms..........Any suggestions?? I just dont want to invest $350 in something i'm not happy with. The Leo's do look amazing but I dont know what to get.

personally i think preformance is more important than good sound when your in the market for exhaust. if your going to be dropping 300 some dollars, your gonna want to have something thats going to do some good for your bike

Maybe it's just me but i think the stock exhaust on the 06 sounds really good

IMHO, the stock exhaust is too loud. I can ride my YZ250 and no neighbor will complain. If I ride the 450............I get calls from angry neighbors. I do the responsable thing and blame the kid down the street! ?

It not only sounds bad to the bone it will flatout make your 03 blast better across the entire rpm range and I have a brand new silencer repack kit with it. for pics go to my garage and look at my 03 when it was a 450...

oh you want the slip on ... just buy my pipe you will be happy

Some people just want to look cool and be loud...If thats the case, drop a grand on the fmf carbon with megabomb...But for performance, check out the dr.d slip on, its really low in price and from the ones ive herd, they sound good. I like the stock exhaust. But everytime I think about buying something for my bike that gives it more power, I always find myself saying..."its a 450, if your not using all the power it has, you dont need anymore"

Here’s another vote for the Q2 (actually I have the TiQ, titanium version of the Q2). There was some talk in another thread about the Q2 and how it sounds so I figured I’d post this for you all to hear. This is the TiQ on an ’03 YZ450.

Video clip

It barely passes the sound test at 97.4db, and it is louder than you would expect at full throttle, high rpm. I think sound wise it's the best sounding 96db pipe I've heard because it does still bark when you're on it. I was at the track today and I actually wish more guys would run quieter pipes. I love the sound of a strong dirt bike, especially a crisp running 250 2 stroke, but 50 or so 100+db bikes going around a track gets a little annoying.

When you have to repack it, (stock packing lasted me 2 rides before about half of it was gone) I suggest packing it tight. Looser packing will be a little quieter but doesn't last very long if you ride hard. If you putt around the stock packing should last longer. (A lot longer.)

Less sound = more ground ?

A loud pipe is not going to make you faster...even if it gives you a little extra HP. If you want to be faster, keep your money in your wallet and practice your turns and whoop sections...over and over and over.

A buddy of mine just pulled the full Pro-Ciruit Ti4 system off his '05 and put the stock exhaust back on. He enjoys being able to hear what's going on around him again.
