My custom decomp plug (pics)

Today I machined my own decompression plug out of stainless today.

Thought I would share it with you all.


I had to make the groove for the bolt wider on mine because the hole was stripped and I had to tap it out to a 1/4-20 SAE thread.

On a lathe. My son did the same thing two years ago when he was in the 9th grade. Made 5 of them for $3 out of 7075 round bar.

a company called T-N-T Engineering at Has this plug made of billet and hard coated and ( patented ) this is a sweet plug for only $ 15.00 to your door. or you can call them at 1-208-512-0329 or go on ebay and type in YZ Decompression plug 1998 to 2004
