2007 WR450F, when, when???

Anybody hear anything about the ´07 coming out to the floors, im desperate like never before!!! Sold my KTM 525EXC to go for the blue, but for a time ive been without a bike... Last week I was at Phoenix and ask about every dealer for them and some told me that they have some in there warehouses or storage facilities but they tell me that Yamaha wont let them out till they run out of ´06. Is this true??? Thanks...

I have to call BS on that. What usually happens is Yamaha will give their dealers one to two new bikes right off the bat sometime before the end of the year, then two more the next month and by the first of the year they start to pour in. I have no doubt that there might be a couple of 07 models sitting in the US, but I would imagine those bikes would only be used for testing and for media evaluation, not for sale.

Just got a great deal last Friday on a 06 WR 450, $60 under book with the helmet they included. My dealer said he wouldn't get his 07s until November.

I got mine in May. $5799 plus tax and doc, came to $6500 (plus all the crap I bought for it), but I had to make a 11 hour round trip to pick it up, accidently bought a quad for my daughter, and got a ticket trying to get home to break it in. It was an expensive day, put it behind me and havent looked back! Love that bike.

I have an 05 wr and its great. I am sure that the aluminum frame will give an overall lighter feeling. But, I am not having any handling issues since I put the proper front and rear springs on.

I would recommend to anyone that they should seriously consider any of the increasing number of wr450's that are now popping up for sale all over the place.

I do love that new rear fender though. When I destroy mine, I hope I can get an 07 fender and light. (but then again, I don't crash as much these days)

I got a 06 2 months ago and I had to pay $6299.00 OTD from Hahm Motorsports I would not recommend the shop but I got a good price I think.

They will have a Aluminum Frame and the weight will be few pounds lighter no fuel injection yet. To me it was not worth the wait so that is why I got the 06 oh and the 07 went up in price not a little but a lot. If you go to the Yamaha web site you can compare the 06 to the 07 the tail light is a nice change I think but being underneath may be a problem if you ride in bushes. The Rotors on the 07 look cool also but is all this worth $1000 or more because the are dealing on the 06's and I am sure they won't on the 07's yet.

Dan is right. My dealer is getting 2 in November, 2 in December, 4 in January, and so on...I put money down a month ago on the first one through the door!

How easy will carb access be on the 07's. In 15-20 minutes , I can replace the jets and the needle. Will we have to get to the need from the top instead of rotating the carb?

I am sure that accessing the carb is not a reason to avoid the bike. I am waiting for the rider reviews to see if the handling and balance is significantly improved. However, in comparisons with the aluminum frame honda 450x, they did not say that the honda was that much better or more agile.

Will it be worth it or is EFI the real thing to wait for?

What EFI? The bike isn't even out yet and nothing has certainly been mentioned about future developments. Even the MX bikes are not featuring yet..contrary to much speculation. They will definitely get it first. Get the 07 and enjoy a great new design before they decide to add "fuel infection" and then have to spend two model years getting it to run right...as with almost every street bike they have converted over. By the time you're done with the 07 they just might have an EFI version sorted! ?

I have a friend who owns a Yammie shop. He has an '07 on order for me. Says he will sell it to me at cost. I will get the second one he receives. I am told November/December. I don't think he would BS me.

Maybe the changes are minor to you guys, but I didn't care for the look of the '06 with the blue steel frame, big tail light and so on... Yamaha addressed all my dislikes with this new bike. I was about to buy a used '06 YZ but it sold. For my riding style, the WR is a much better bike, so I'm glad they changed the things they did.

I have one on order too. but it will probably have all the bad things that Yamaha always puts on the bike like blue plastic, finally good looking fenders, a crappy aluminum frame that wasn't tested on the '06 YZ and several engine and suspension refinements that will make the bike feel and run better, and what can I say about the Pro-Taper bars and adjustable mounts. Don't get me started, I'm probably going to have to learn to put up with the lighter weight , better power and better handling and suspended bike until they finally realize that they had the best bike back in '72 when you didn't have to change anything because the bike was "perfection". You guys kill me---- WR Dave. ?
