I think it's stupid and degrading to the poor 600-650's and won't refer to mine as that.

Funny, on the trails they are pigs but the minute you get on the roads they are lightweights, which means there should be another name if your talking street riding.

Ever been chased by a big pig?... typically, it is big, fat and red but on your heals on the trail...but on the open road the XR650R it is like the fastest animal around... so do call it a big black panther?

When I first had starting problems with mine, (which I still do) I was calling it a pig just because it was so obstinate and was kicking my butt. That was even before I knew what a BRP was.

I just sold an XL600R and bought a XR650R and I can tell you though the XR maybe only a little lighter that the XL (315 lbs) it feels 50-75 lbs lighter. I maybe a pig but it hides it's weight well. If you think that the XR is a pig, bum a ride on an XL. The XR will be much lighter!

Try standing beside it and lifting up the rear end to move it sideways  , besides Big Red Pig sounds better than Stout Red King or Portly Red Racer. :ride:

When I lay mine down on the side of a steep hill I call it....

"motherfu**er, piece of Chit, heavy ass 20 year old tech piece of mother fu**ing chit bag slut whore dingleberry fat f**K!!!"

So in hindsight Big Red Pig is rather flattering...

This is true. The one thing about this bike is: It will hurt you if you piss it off! You don't want to tell it what to do, you want to give it gentle suggestions. Then, it will behave and not buck you off.

My friends nicknamed my bike Snarl.

ok, basically, pigs are pretty much red, the bike is red. pigs are fat, the bike is fat, bigs love the mud, the bike loves the mud....they are one in the same. that and BRB means Be Right Back.

Just one thing, a normal pig will eat anything. Our pigs will only except the premium slop.

We should ditch the pig thing and start calling them the Tyrant

Tyrant - noun
1. A cruel and oppressive ruler who controls through intimidation and ruthless power.
2. A person exercising power or control in a cruel, unreasonable, or arbitrary way. (i.e. the mainstream motorcycle community views XR650R's as being too heavy, too loud, too powerful, too fast, too high in fuel consumption...)

Any off-road motorcycle weighing 300 pounds before adding 25 pounds of gas is a Big Fat Pig.

I don't care how "light" it feels on the trail. It is still 300+ pounds.

Oh, come one now. 300 lbs. it's than heavy. 10 - 15 years ago, all 4 strokes weighed 300 lbs. I still own an old Yamaha XT 250 that weighs more than 300 lbs. We got by back then, we can do it now.
