I am going to check the valve clearances on my '01 426 and want to replace the cam chain as reccomended by fellow TT'ers. I looked in the manual and didn't see any info on replacing the cam chain and was wondering if I have to take the head off. Also, are there any parts that need to be replaced when checking the valves/replacing the cam chain?

I haven't personally done this on a YZ yet, but the general makeup of a 4 stroke MX bike is such that you should be able to change the chain by pulling the left side ignition cover off, pull the flywheel, cams, chain tensioner and pull the chain out the top without pulling the head off. Am I on track here Gray?
