XR guys,

Who makes a good bolt on kit for the L pig? Does anyone have a hose routing diagram for a remote cooler? I may fabricate my own using a high quality trans cooler. Does anyone have pictures of oil coolers fitted to their bikes?

SRC used to make one, it may even still be listed on their website, but it is no longer available. A lot of people have adapted transmission coolers or coolers from other bikes (the xr400 cooler seems to be the favorite) the hardest parts from what i have read is welding on some type of mounting nuts and finding all the appropriate plumbing pieces for the lines. There is a thread on the "other" site Here that has a really good writeup about it.

Do a search on Jagg oil coolers. They make them for a variety of bikes.

To my knowledge, no-one makes a "kit"; usable coolers yes, but no bolt on kits. I would be interested if anyone digs something up though.

The link that HappyCurmudgeon posted is a good link. Just do a search there or even here on this site for oil cooler and it will come up. I know i posted here with some pictures of my oil cooler. Here they are again.

Basciallly they cross over at the back of the headlight.

One runs all the way down the bottom of the right hand side near pulse generator.

The other screws into the bottom of the oil tank.

guys, i am in the process off doing a oil cooler also. over at 4strokes several have put a ebay cooler ,power steering type , small enough to get into the space vertically on the right side between the tank flare and the center frame. this will be right over where you can tie to oil line. some guys don't hard pipe it ,just add flex hose and clamps. from what i read no real pressure. i have the cooler, found the space , now i have to get the confindence to cut that pipe. hope this helps.

Yes, the SRC kit used the XR400 cooler but they no longer offer the kit to mount it up.
