Looks like everyone is trying to be like us SE owners ? Looks very clean man, looked great when you got it too! Where do you live in California?

I was saving for an SE but decided I really wanted a bike with a green sticker-I live in Oceanside CA. The good news is with the money I saved over a new one I got a really nice 42' plasma :ride:

I bought the bike a few months ago and even though I new I was going to be replacing half the bike I was still very picky. My thought was get the cleanest one in hopes the owner actually took care of it. I looked at some bikes the owners said were in excellent condition and regularly maintained but they looked like they were ridden hard and had no pride of ownership.

Are those decal works side panel graphics?

Yes, and the front number plate. fairly easy to put on-especially since I don't consider myself very good at stuff like that. As a kid I would always screw up models because I could never get the stickers on right.

That bike came out beautiful. Great job. How much was the final bill?

Mike

Let's just say all the little things added up really fast. Replaced misc bolts that weren't perfect, new filters, Bar Pad, grips, yada yada yada....

Anyway lets just say I know I could have gotten an '06 out the door for about $1500 more than what I spent. I am obviously considering every penny I have spent on the bike in addition to the purchase price.

I look back and think I should have just bought a new one for the extra $1500 but I really wanted a green sticker bike (it's a CA thing). Besides, like I mentioned earlier my previous TV blew and I used the some of the bike fund $$ I was saving to get a new plasma.

In the end I am please, I love the yellow and black and I know I will have the bike for at least 5 years so I don't mind dumping some money into it now to have it exactly like I want it. Maybe after five years I can justify a new bike and I will keep this one for when I need a green sticker.

not to mention, " YOU DID IT YOURSELF". Not really a way to put a price tag on that. Green Stickers. I grew up in SOCAL, and remember them well. Are the 450's not green sticker legal? I've been in N.C since 1984 (Military) and don't really keep up on the sticker issues because we don't require them.

Basically anything 2002 and older has a green sticker. Anything newer only gets a green sticker if the manufacturer has gone through the EPA certification. My wife has an '05 YFZ450 (the quad) and it has a green sticker but pretty much all the '03 and newer MX bikes get red stickers. Most places I ride allow red stickers most of the year but there is one place I like to camp with my family that only allows red stickers Nov and Dec. With a green sticker you can ride year round at any of the parks/offroad areas.

by the way, THANK YOU for serving so that my family and I have the freedoms we do!!

Wow, I don't remember the red stckers and the certain time of year issue. Looks like things have changed alot. After I saw your bike went to ebay and TT classifieds to look for the parts. No luck at either. ebay probably has them but I'm weak on the search technique. Anyway, You're welcome, and it's a privalege to serve this country.
