heading up there on Wednesday, what jetting do you use in your XR 600?

Your bike should run without any changes, but it will be quite rich. I did change mine and it ran better. I moved the needle down (leaner) one clip position. That's moving the clip closer to the end of the needle. I also put a one size leaner main jet in. I think that the needle setting makes the biggest difference. It's not like there is a lot of opportunity to open her up on those trails.

I was able to do it with the carb on the bike. I just loosened the boots and turned the carb to get access.
