Zip Tye Problems - Please Help !

I have a zip tye screw that once I back it out more than 1 1/4 turns, it real loose and backs it self out while running. I need to get it to 2 1/2 turns but I am afraid that I would loose it. Has anyone else had this problem ? I tried using the search engine, but it is down right now.

Yes, everything is in place. At 1 1/4 turns it tight and does not move. Anything past that and you can wiggle it back and forth and it is real loose.

Whenever you install the Zip-TY fuel screw, you are suppossed to stretch the spring out a little bit so that it keeps constant pressure on the screw, preventing it from backing out.

Go ahead and take the whole assembly out, and stretch the spring just a little bit, so that you are making it longer than normal. This will now allow the spring to keep tension on the screw, and she'll no longer back out.

that seems kinda hokey to me... the MSR i bought works great out of the box, which is how it SHOULD be IMO

Forget the quick adjust fuel screws, pick up one of these and don't worry about screws falling out.

Hey Reyn, You're right it is kinda hokey..but I read too many cases of people losing their fuel screw out on the track/trail. So the general consensus is to stretch the spring a little. I've had no problems since install, but it should have been mentioned in the instructions, or corrected with the design.

good point...it's better to have to do a little spring stretching than lose a fuel screw, thats for sure.

How hard is it to stretch a spring? FFS.

put a spring on the screw. i have a carb ike that. it has a spring on it so that their is presure pushing on it and that stops it from backing from viberation.
