I was told the old web site with $100 was for last summer about a month ago.....if you select "buy it" it redirects you to their newer web site and says to pony up $120....believe me I tried to get that old price working.....no cigar.:ride:

The TT store sells it for 90 bucks! :ride:

I think i'll grab one before they raise it $20 too.

Its nice to have the info if and when you can look down. For $120 its still an awesomw tool. The rad. temp and other tools are invaluable to me especially if it comes time to shut the bike off and wait for the slow guys. Its nice to look down and see if you shood shut the bike off or wait based off the eng temp. Nice to save the kickstarting if its not needed. ;{)

:ride: I gotta say tho - someone on one of these threads (not sure where) pointed out that the vapor is completely useless on the trail cos you cant see squat. I thought he wuz just being bitter but its soooooo freakin true........ LOL

Still a cool gadget tho :ride:

.....GPS next! :ride:

I cant see squat on my stock 06 puter, always have to wipe it ,....whenever I want to see it, but do i want the info? yes! My question is, does the odometer die (erase, reset) when my battery dies? or is it like the stock puter, holds it only for a little while. Will it hold an odometer reading, or is everything resettable. Im leaning towards getting one, very dissapointed about the stock puter, but I want a "kind of" hard odometer. 2 trips are fine, great, actually, I guess I just wat a 3rd i can keep running.

I dunno if it can be reset. I tried leaving the battery out of mine overnight (when I bought it, it had 9 miles on the odometer and ART) but it still held the memory. I didn't try shorting out the battery terminals (with the battery removed of course) to see if that erased its memory.....

in response to one of the first posts...so you guys are saying that you can't view your bikes coolant temp while riding without hitting a button and changing screens? Or can you just keep it on that screen while your riding? The coolant temp would be why i buy this unit because i ride on the road a lot and i think it would be a hassle to constantly have to change screens...:applause:

You can set it to a particular screen and leave it there. However if you stall the bike it will default to the #1 screen, which is kind of annoying. I am like you, I would rather be able to set my own defaults, but it is easy to change. You just hit the mode button once and it is good to go again. Hope this helps.

On my 08 wr450, the CDI unit on top of the spark plug has an orange wire and a black wire. I have soldered the rpm wires directly to these, red to orange and black to black. The black is definately ground as i got continuity to the frame. Is this the correct way to connect it? The reason i ask is i am getting rpm reading on the vapor, but it doesn't seem to go correlate to the "bike noise" and speed. When the bike is labouring in a gear rpm is around 4000 - 4500 rpm. When i rev the bike quite hard, i can't seem to get the rpm to go about 7000 or 8000 ??? It seems like this value should be much higher. What rpms are you guys seeing on the vapor?

On my 98 WR400 it would read all the way to the rev limit (10000rpm). I had a terrible time trying to get the vapour to read the RPM reliably. Directly connected to the coil it WOULD NOT READ the rpm when the Vapour was powered off the bike, When i disconnected the power and just ran the vapour off the internal battery it ran fine. It was wierd, trailtech has a resistored coil connection, I tried that but it didnt solve it either

In the end i just wrapped it around the ignition wire and electrical tapped it. It worked reliably for 6 months before it was stolen :/

On my 04', I took the orange wire out of the connector, on the coil, and stripped about an inch of the red tach wire, wrapped it around the spade, on the orange coil wire, reinstalled the orange wire spade into the connector, with the red wire attached to it. I then ran the ground to the frame, and it works perfectly.

I did the same as above with the tach wire. Works perfectly!

I still have the coolant sensor to fit. I know its hard to say but what are safe running temperatures for the 08 450 and what do you guys set your warning lights at? What would be a dangerously high temperatures ie, when it will cause engine damage?

By the way, i fitted mine into a pro taper pad. It pushes in snug with plenty of room behind for the wiring, and i put two large cable ties round for good measure. Not the best pic but you get the idea.
