How "waterproof" is the Edelbrock?

Has anyone had trouble with the venting of the Edelbrock when doing extended water crossings?

I know some FCR type carbs stop venting when the bottom hoses sit in water for a few seconds and kill the motor. I heard a "T" fitting and another hose section to the airbox fixes this.

Is this necessary for the Edelbrock? I am expecting some water crossings on the next big ride and don't want to push the pig 100 feet in 2 foot deep water! :ride:

Thanks in advance
