xr650l suspension

Recommended Posts

You need to set your sag first, then start with stock setting, then read about suspension until you're cross eyed, then make small changes and keep track of what you've done. I have an'04 - Front is 3 back from hard. Rear compression is one softer/faster than stock, and rear rebound is 3 faster than stock. I am also 200ish and spend alot of time in the dirt. It's not a particularly agressive set up but I can keep it upright. There are lots of links on this forum to suspension - the hardest part is getting a feel for the bike and how to improve on what you've got.
