My New Acerbis 3.3 Gallon Tank Pics

Recommended Posts

Just installed my new Acerbis 3.3 gallon tank, thought i would share some pics with you guys, (as i couldn't find any before buying mine) It does drop down a bit on both sides and uses two fuel drain points now that tie into one. I heated up my stock Yamaha tank decals and stuck them right on the new tank, I think it looks ok, the tank is a little taller, wider and deeper. I average 100km per tank now so I should be getting over 150 (average) now with the larger tank....... Thanks for those who pointed me to this tank, And yes it fit my stock 06 WR Rad Shrouds and seat post mount.

Thanks guys, I think it matches the overall look of my bike as i have a taller seat and taller handlebars, not the tank is also taller and lower, kinda makes the bike look even bigger. I filled her up today and never noticed any big difference in handling or it being top heavy, I guess the extra fuel kept low helps it feel neutral.

does it affect riding? Do you just go for long trips on roads. I went trail riding today and seems like anything bigger would be a pain? Any noticeable weight problems or anything like that?

You should have called, I didnt do anything today. Jean got cancelled.

The new tank looks sweet. When I installed my new IMS 3.4 gallon a few weeks ago on my YZF it really looked like it was going to effect the center of gravity and handling on my bike. Even after I filled it up I could barely notice it out on the trail and hardly at all in corners. Once you get used to the feel, your used to it. The IMS on mine also has two petcocks, and they can be a pain if you dont rig them up right.

Thanks guys, I do jump the bike and ride around in sand pits and stuff also, but never tried too much since the new tank, maybe this weekend. I have modded it to fit me better and let me ride longer, springs and valving will be done soon as i get enough nerve to do the job.....
