I made a trade for my bro's TE 570 then put on a UFO headlight, UFO taillight w/blinkers and the harness. Filled out the DMV SOF form then went to the Norco.

I brought copies of my receipts, the pink to get the title transferred and proof of insurance. It took longer to get the ticket with my call-number then to get my plate.

I was not asked for any vin verification or light inspection. I was waiting for John at Mission to get back from vacation if I had to get this done.

Am I just lucky to get this done or is the standard practice? I talked to the original owner of the Gas Gas that I traded to my bro and he told he brought his pink, receipts and SOF form and did the same thing at Norco.

By the way I have a 96 Suzuki RMX 250 with a Plate-All Legit for sale. It is a great bike but I want to get a bigger 2 stroke like a Husky WR360 or a KTM 380. PM if interested.

Sounds like they were investigating the dealer. I would be very surprised if they have the funding for an "investigator" that is going after individuals. They would have to go after alot of folks both off roaders and Harley types.

Then they would have to deal with a bunch of "investigators" getting beat up.

I wonder if it is the same dealer that screwed up a bike that I am working on fixing right now. A guy came to me with a Husky that only had a plate on it and not a green sticker. They are trying to pull the plate and give him a green sticker. It looks like the problem is the engine # is incorrect and may be considered an out of country only bike. We are getting a vin verification to fix the problem and everything should be OK now. He has to have the verification done at the DMV. We will see.

Last September, I found a guy who was selling a KPX 200cc enduro on Ebay. He lived near me in El Centro, Cal. I found his bike interesting because it was plated for California, which was, and still is, a near impossibility for the Chinese enduros.

I asked him what his "secret" was. He told me that the loophole he used was that if a bike is taken out of California and becomes inoperable, a replacement bike can be purchased to replace the bike that was taken out of state and was not able to be brought back in. Has anyone else heard about this?
