WR 450 & YZ 450 Triple clamps

Hey TTers I should have asked this before I ordered them off the Thumper store but will the 03 PRO Taper triple clamps fit a WR 450 of the same year. I ordered the new syle with the rubber pads you can insert. I dont care about an odometer mount as mine doesnt work anyway!! Thanks for any help.

Yeah, they fit. As you already know, the speedo mount is all that's different - it just isn't there on YZ clamps!

What benifit do you get from after market tripple clamps? These are the clamps that hold your forks and handle bars, right?

On many Yamahas the clamp that holds your bars and forks is cast as one piece and is made only for 7/8th size bars.I want much stronger 1 1/8th bars along with some shock and vibration dampening so I have to buy a triple clamp that will allow this. They make adapters but I dont like this method or achieve all of my goals.

Yep, as 1Bluesky says, the stock clamps are cast.

Aftermarket clamps are billet and way stronger. They also have full adjustability for perfect rider set up.

You can get aftermarket clamps that change the steering geometry. This is to give faster steering response.
