I just finished installing an Acewell computer on my bike an I am curious what I should consider "redline." The motor is new with a 98mm (610cc) piston and Hot Cams cam.

Thanks!
Dave

The normal stock redline on the XR600R engine is around 7500 RPM.

Did you replace the stock valve springs with some tighter ones?

Did you modify the oil pump or lubrication system at all?

You may want to leave your XR600R at the same redline if you have stock valve springs.

Is your new ignition like one of these?:

LOB I have a XR628 which is ridiculously worked - HRC motor etc.

YOu cant use the vortexs as the XR600 is an analogue ignition system.

I live about 10km from Vortex and I am begging the guy to see if he can convert my XR600 to a digital and hence tunable system.
No digital - not tunable.

I do use a voretex on my CRF450R and it rips - highly recommend a vortex when you can get one.

400s and 650Rs are digital so Vortex's are made for them.

Cool, thanks guys. The valve springs are stock, as is the oiling system, though I did install a new oil pump just to be safe.

The Acewell is not an ignition system, but an instrument computer:
www.acewell-meter.com/pro4.asp?id1=9

You can set the rev limit on it which flashes all the tach bars, but I was not sure what limit to use on this bike.

No, Acewell makes the computers that ElectroSport, ServiceHonda, Barnumspro, etc... sell. I purchased this unit from ElectroSport since they are the US distributor for Acewell.
