How old is this XR

I'm in Dubai at the moment and am looking at buying a XR 650. No one is sure if it is an L or an R. is there any obvious differences. Can you tell from the chassis no.JH2RE01A33K230020.Will be grateful for any help.

the only thing the L and R share are the xr650, the L is a stroked 600r, air cooled factory dualsport, the R is a whole new water cooled xr which replaced the 600r as a desert racer

It is a 2003 made in Kumamoto Japan that i do know, the model is an xr650r i think from those numbers.But it is definitely an 03.

JH2=Japan

RE01A= xr650 series,I know RE01U is an xr650r, i think RE01A = an L?

3=check digit means F.A.

3=2003 before 2000 these where a letter eg a X was a 99 a W was a 98

K=Kumamoto factory

Next 6 numbers are serial numbers
