You all need to read this article by Rich (Super Hunky) Sieman on www.off-road.com It is how the Sierra Club is caring for our interests in the wake of the terrorist attacks on our country. Really their type of chicken$xxx style of underhanded tactics.

Comes off sounding incredibly ignorant after a well written and informative article? Once again, for those who need to be reminded, not all Middle Eastern Muslims are suicide bombing, fundamentalist, fanatical, US hating terrorists. Destroying the enemies of our country is first and foremost on my mind, but we must do it correctly and more important, intelligently, so we can vindicate

the tremendous losses we have suffered. Just my opinion.

A good read, but I think some of the points may be over stressed just a bit. Personally, I think the tide is turning against such fanatical self interest campaigns. This move by the Sierra Club is a predictable self preservation tactic. While the behind the scenes wickedness may continue, their battle in the open media is necessarily abated. Think about it. They are forced into essentially admitting that their political positon is unpopular. This will not change anytime soon for them, given the long term nature of the present war campaign. They are going to have to hope for a "softer" target in some future presidential administration. Also, this country will become more and more sensitized to radical movements whether external or internal. Fanaticism will bear a very sour odor no matter where it comes from (good or bad).

By the same token, it will become increasingly important for off-roaders to avoid any perception on the part of the general public as being an "extreme" group in any way. Alot of what we experience in our off road activities is the thrill we get from various levels of "extreme" challenge in our sport of choice. That's okay (its why I'm here). But we are not land rapers or wildlife destroyers. We are normal citizens, families, friends, and responsible Americans. As long as we do act responsibly and give some reasonable consideration to how others view our activities, we will thrive. Responsible land use is a real issue and we should make a conscious effort to set ourselves apart from the small minority of idiots out there. Some people will continue to show indifference to disturbances that they cause and are to damn lazy to pickup their own garbage. When they also happen to be riding dirt bikes and ATVs it gives us a all a black eye.

True riding enthusiasm really is synonymous with a genuine interest in the preservation of our riding environments. The non-riding public will see it that way too, if given half a chance.

BOY! I wish I could get a Sierra Clubber to come into my house. Here in Oregon, they don't show thier faces at all. We don't have any waiting period to purchase a hand gun and thustly, everybody has a gun. The Sierra club hates that. After all, thier agenda is to have total population control.

My wife usually cringes as I invite the

poor representative in and debate with

him until sweat pours off his brow. Usually

I talk economics, but last week they

specifically mentioned the roll-back

of Clinton's land-use initiatives and what

we could do to stop it.

So, no, they didn't mention Bush's name

but it was pretty obvious who their

enemy was.

Interesting article.

After the horrible scene in New York, I was wondering how many Liberals were forced to walk back home to Long Island on dark streets through bad neighborhoods, thinking the entire city was under attack, realizing what those of us apposing gun control have been concerned about all along.

Now that we have people being killed in our streets, the anti-gun, anti-bush, anti-military sentiment is changing.

Attention liberals: Law abiding conservatives that believe in the right to bear arms and believe in a strong military haven’t been paranoid. This is our hell of a reality right now. Chances are it'll be over soon. But who's to say it won't?

It's all about perspective isn't it?

On the contrary Bryan.....I know many Oregonians who fight the good fight against the Greenies and the Grabbers. The real eco-clowns are based all over western WA.. There's even someone running for office up here spewing Sierra filth and telling people

how they're gonna "shut down the forests from those stinking, loud dirt bikes" on a local radio spot. I haven't figured out who this is yet(girlfriend heard it, didn't catch the name ) but when I do, the phone calls and mail will be on the way to their office.

Been in Oregon a couple of times on vacation. Other than the fact that they throw rocks and bottles at cars from California, it is a beautiful place.

One of my friends got hired by the State Police and some of the stories he tells me about the eco-nazi's are just incredible. He said it really gets fun when he tells them he rides dirtbikes!!!

I moved to San Diego, not quite two years ago and I recently came back to Oregon with California plates on my SUV. I had to cut people off just to make a lane change! I heard people yell, "go back to where you came from!", like I was from some foreign country! Morons... Libergonians really do have an issue with Californians. I personally loved living in San Diego (Ranch Bernardo) with its overall conservative people. The weather was to die for, however, I had to drive too far to ride, real estate was ridiculously expensive, and I missed my family and friends. I really do dislike all the liberal hippies in Portland. I come out of my office downtown for lunch and I'm hit up by Greenpeace and PETA for a signature or donation. For some reason, I like to get sucked into a battle with this idiots. I know it is just a waste of my breath. I realize that I'm generalizing here. There are good people where ever you go. The war on terrorism now, how about the war on econazism?

Gun control means using both hands. And when I get my 15 round semi automatic hand gun out of it's holster, I use gun control.

The only reason we don't like people from California is we are afraid they are going to do the same thing we all did. Move to Oregon and get out of the rat race.

Afer I moved here, I realized that there are very few Orgonians left. Everybody is from California.

I use hand guns because it is to hard to carry my Weatherby 300 into the market. And yes I do have a CWP.
