what's a far price on a 04 wr450

sorry kind of off the subject but why would you go back to a 2 smoke?

Simplicity for the most part. Jetting seems to constantly be a mystery with my bike. I can pull a top end on a 2 stroke and be back riding within a few hours if need be. I`m reading on TT (all makes) about people replacing valves, changing oil every couple of rides so the whole buying 2 stroke oil and replacing rings is kinda a wash IMO. A YZ250 is 30 pounds less than a WR450 plus a lower C.G.

Now on the aftermarket side of things it`s kinda hard to justify $160+ for a head pipe with 2 bends in it when in contrast a 2 stroke pipe with lots more welding bending and material is only $220, now here is what really gets me is the silencer(s) a 2 stroke silencer can be had for around $150 how can something so simular be $400 just because its for a 4 stroke?

I`m not saying that the new 4 strokes are bad, just that the old school thought process of 4 stroke reliability is not what we have today. My old 1986 TT 350 runs as good today as it did in 86, not the case with my 450. I`m not comparing the 2 bikes as those 2 cannot be compared really, the 450 is by far hands down a better bike in all aspects except maintenence. Just my .02

Hey my bro has an 04 WR 450 for sale. All free mods, Unabikers, brand new rear wheel, tire, and sprocket, Ti footpegs and street plated. It has been immaculately maintained, although the plastic looks a little rough and I roosted the snot out of him on his last ride on it and broke his headlight  . Anyways its in Billings, but he is moving to Great Falls this weekend. We will be in the Bitteroot over Memorial Day. PM me if you are interested. He is asking 4100.00 (Book price with no goodies).
