V Force 3 on 2006 yz 250, POS....

I had one of these on the shelf and decided to bolt it on the 06 yz 250. I did not like the feel of it on the bike. It made the low end power much smoother. It felt like it added midrange, but it did this by subtracting low end. That low end hit that is so fun was gone.

I removed the v force, packed it up, and put it on ebay.

Have you guys had better luck with your v force?

I did try several different jets. I tried a smaller 48 pilot and a 172 main. Honestly, no combination made this thing work. It certainly did not out preform the stock reed valve. All this for 148 bucks....lol

I was never a fan of changing reeds on a mx bike. Too much money for too little (if any) bang!

Reeds help with throttle responce and make a big difference over stock. Boyesen is the way to go. IMO. Stock intake valve suck.

Well the new bikes (maybe just YZ's) come with carbon reeds stock anyway... So what else is different with the VForce?

I think the only thing that the stocker could use is a good aftermarket silencer (only, keep the stock 06 pipe on that bike), everything else on the bike is perfect (except the riders)

On the last few years you cant go wrong with stock, have an 03-04 or below you would bennifit from a Vforce, I love it on my 99.

I have changes the silencer on my 06. I switched to a Pro Circuit short model as mentioned in our forum's pipe test. The difference between it and the stock silencer is there, a little, but probably not worth the 100 bucks. the pro circuit model looks better.

I have used the rad valve before and never will again. At least the v force did not screw up the jetting.

I may switch to the boyesen dual stage reeds at some point. probably when the stock reeds wear out.

This is not the greatest bike to own for the home high performance person. It appears that Yamaha did an excellent job with this engine/motor/pipe.

You didn't feel the difference because you don't know how to tune an engine. Step away from the bike, learn how to jet, reinstall it, re-jet and you will be amazed.

The fact that it hurt the performance of your engine isn't due to a bad product, but due to an incopitant installer.

The fact is, this V Force is a piece of shit. Its hyped like crazy to try to sucker us in. It does work, but there is little to no performance benefit. This is confirmed by several previous posters.

I am sure every bike is different. If you own a real junk engine like a CR 125, you may get something. This is due to Honda doing a terrible job on this engine from the start. Obvioulsy, not all handa's are bad.

I have the VF3 and PC long silencer on my 05...IMHO...that is the ticket!

Loved the improvements both of them made.

well ..I came off a 04 crf 450 ...with tonnes of power ...when I switched I could barely hang on to this thing for the first week or so...I guess it was set up by some one who knew there shit ..cause its smokes!!!I wouldnt want any more low-mid or topend ...it perfect all the way through...yami's are simply the best bikes out there ...end of post

I have seen and read RCannon's post on here and Dirtrider.net for some time now. I am sure he jetted and tried everything possible to make the V force work the best it could. Fact is its hard to improve on something that is already great. Look at Chad Johnsons Arenacross YZ250... Stock pipe and all (with a short PC silencer for more snap), and he could snap off hole shots and win races every week.

We like our Vforce. The only gain is throttle response. For more top end, some pros have told me that Carbon Tech reeds are the way to go. But there isnt alot to be gained on this engine. Its already fast.

I read a lot of posts here and must say that RCannon posts are spoken with a good measure of experiance from working on bikes. He and I may not agree on ATF but I still respect his opinion and listen to what he is saying.

I own a motorcycle/atv dyno and have tuned hundreds of bikes, quads, karts and you are going to tell me that yamaha has build the most perfectly tuned bike right out the box

I have a challenge for you then, take your stock bike over to a local dyno and make a few pulls then I'll get an 06 over here on my dyno with some aftermarket parts installed such as a full pipe nad reeds and we'll see who is making more power. Simple enough. I'll even video tape the pulls just so you don't whine that it's a mocked up dyno print out.

In my opinion, the v force was a piece of shit. For 148.00 I can have Eric Gorr port the bike and make some real performance gains. It will also buy one of the single ring Wiseco Pistons. Thirty bucks extra will get me one of the titanium nitride rings from them. This will also give some REAL performance gains.

Again, in my opinion the v force did not do anything. If a person owns one and likes it, that is wonderful. I am happy that you did not feel ripped off liek I did.

Obviously there are ways to make more horsepower than the stock yz 250 makes. My point is, why. For me, the stock motor works just fine. Best of all, I like it.

Now why would you be willing to go through all that for the sake of a internet discussion?

Sure you can build a YZ250 to produce about 50 or 51 HP but it would take porting, case work, and head work, and even then it could still do it with or without the stock pipe and reeds.

But thats fine, you can have your V force and I will go without, I even have a V force sticker for your rear fender if you want it!
