rooster wrooster .THANK YOU FOR YOUR QUICK RESPONSE; SEEING PICTURES OF YOUR MOTORCYCLE WAS OF GREAT HELP. I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S TOO MUCH TO ASK BUT IT WOULD BE OF GREAT HELP IF YOU COULD TELL ME WHAT KIND OF BATTERIE YOU ARE USING TO RUN THE LIGHTS? THAT IS A BIGGER GAS TANK RIGHT?

I'M GLAD TO KNOW THAT I'M NOT ALONE ON THIS MISSION !

THANK YOU AGAIN FOR ALL THE HELP.

It's a sad sad little lighting kit. But if you just want to be street legal and ride only during the day then it gets the job done. Don't even bother getting it if you really want to ride at night. The battery is a 12v NiCad rechargeable and it lasts a whole 12 minutes on high. I don't know how many watts the light is though, but it isn't much. Here is a picture of the kit.

Here is where you buy it from, its the universal enduro kit. $299

The tank is the IMS 3.1 gallon.

I have done the same "battery only" set-up on my 426. Same story. I just did enough to get street legal, but it doesn't power the lights for more than 20 min. I set-up an LED taillight so it will run for days w/o draining. The headlight however draws way too much to do any good. I went with a tiny 1.2 ah SLA battery and mounted it in the air box.

I would doubt that, but if you can find any solid info to that effect, I'd like to see it.

I believe that the WR stator is larger in diameter than the YZF unit. That means it would require the WR flywheel, and the WR left hand cover to mount the stator in. The cover will fit, the YZ engine, but the flywheel requires at least the left side of the WR crank (which will also fit). Believe it or not, this is an improvement over the previous YZF/WRF interchangeability situation, which essentially was that you needed to swap the entire WR crankcase/transmission assembly into a YZ in order to do this.

Call these guy's: http://www.electrosport.com/electrosport_lc_yamaha_mx.html

They don't show anything newer than a 2005 yz 450f but the data base might not be updated online? Also, it's output is only 50 W. I purchased that unit and I'm very satisfied with it even at night for $180 can't go wrong. Get a LED bulb for the tail/run/brake light so the headlight isn't starving. Also, there are a ton of threads/posts on this subject
