Hi,

I wish I had one, looks like photographers were just in one part of that 1.5 km track. I've seen some nice brakeslide photos from that race but not done by me ? Not that I don't do them. ? Oh well, I have several races this summer to get one

Nice one! I didn't realise that Supermoto racing wasn't all tarmac. Makes it a lot more interesting I expect.

Got mine in Supermoto guise at the moment. I'm a long way off racing it though. Just enjoying the daily hack to work and back

You don't know what you are missing out on! Do yourself a favour by going to a supermoto event. It is the best kind of racing to watch, there is always big stacks, huge pile ups, awesome slides and yes, there is dirt jumps as well. It is fun to watch them hit the dirt with slicks on. They take big doubles too!

Hi,

In here our races are about 80% tarmac and 20% sand. Just like last weekend sand was still bit wet (snow just melted) getting out of corners with wet slick on front and dry slick at back, acceleration causes nice power slides until the wet sand wears of from the tire and then you are back at the sand again. Also braking hard to tarmac corners will make the bike to brake slide

from wat i know braking hard into corners to slide is nt the way to back it in..it can be quite dangerous coz it's easier for u to high side..usuallythey will drop down two gears n fanning those clutch will make the bike slide.. i ride supermoto too.

What comes to setup changes between enduro mode and supermoto mode

I use stock spring for enduro 0.428kg/mm and for supermoto 0.49kg/mm in front. Also in enduro I use 5W shock oil and supermoto 10W shock oil. In the rear in enduro again stock 4.9kg/mm and supermoto 5.7kg/mm.

Tires are Michelin medium rain in front and Michelin medium dry in the back.

Front sproket is 14 and rear sproket is 39

Waiting to get JD programmable CDI and Silmotor pipe (I have the silencer already)

my 1998 wr400sm can go max 180km/h. my sprocket size is 15/45

Hi Timo,

Mine's running 14/39 sprockets and I've had 113 mph out of mine. Got a bit scary as the front end started to bounce and lift a bit.

Or was it my ear to ear grin that was causing that?!

Probably would have gone a little further too, as I hadn't found the limiter, but I was running out of road.

It won't do it now I don't suppose, as I was running a 170 main jet. I'm down to a 165 now, because I've jetted it for a smoother delivery.

Still goes beyond 100 mph though, which is good enough for me. And it helps me stay out of court and keep my licence!

These bikes certainly are fun!

Hi,

Like I said it takes 165km/h with max power which is at 9000 rpms 5th gear, it will definately go faster when you go up to limiter (10700 rpm). But as racing, 165km/h is starting to be the max you go, because straights are not that long. Just like on that track where I was racing average speed is around 67 km/h and 4th gear was biggest on use.

I did ok for my first race, I was 6th in the first heat and 9th on the second, because I stalled my bike on braking on the sand Overall I was 7th out of 13 drivers. Oh well more practise this weekend, it takes some time to get use to those tires. It was my 3rd time on supermoto track with that bike
