 Would running 115km/h in 4th gear for 10 min hurt a 650L? RPM unknown:eek:

I wouldn't think so. What gearing and tire size? I'm guessing you're well within a safe RPM.

The bike is new and with stock tires and gears.

What's that, 70MPH or so? No worries, lots of cool air for the motor. Much easier than my riding in the woods in first and second with 13/48 and 90º.

You're fine, by my calculations that's about 5750rpm.

Good. I was on the highway and thought I was in 5th but was only in 4th  .I find it hard to hear bike with motor cross helmet on. I'm thinking of getting one of those tach/hour meters, anyone have one and is the RPM in sync with throttle?

I snick into 5th at about 50-60 depending on how I feel - motor is loafing at that speed. I can roll on the gas at 25MPH in 2nd and loft the front end!

Just do the 5th gear toe lift. If the shifter lifts up high your in 5th. If it don't lift any you have another gear.

I can roll on the gas in 3rd or 4th at 35mph-45mph and loft the front end.

Get a different helmet and wear ear plugs. MX helmets on the freeway are a pain.
