HI ALL AT THIS GREAT SITE I AM A BIT OF A VIRGIN TO THE DIRT BIKE SCENE AS I HAVE ALWAYS HAD ROAD BIKES BUT THE TIME HAS COME TO PLAY IN THE CRAP WEATHER AS WELL AS THE WARMER MONTHS I HAVE JUST PURCHASED A 99 WR400 FOR GREENLANING OVER HERE IN THE ISLE OF MAN SO SHE NOW SITS NEXT TO THE OTHER YAMMY IN THE GARAGE..R1 2005..CANT WAIT TO GET FILTHY DIRTY.ANY THINGS TO LOOK OUT FOR ON THIS MODEL BIKE WOULD BE A BONUS FOF ME TO KNOW....WOT A GREAT SITE

welcome to the site.

the main thing i jave learned is to change the oil often. every 500 k's or less and the filter. cheap insurance.

do the yz timing mod, do a search or look at this.

the general consensus on tyres is mich s12 up front and maxxis (your choice) rear, mine is surcross.

bulk more info available on here and lots of knowledgeable(?) people as well.

it's gettin like Alice in this thread ... curiouser and curiouser ? so what did you pay for your 400 - and what sort of condition is it in ? Most of the one's i've seen here in Aus have had pretty hard lives add i'm not sure that they've got a lot of life left in them ...
