I'm lookingto buy a used cylinder on ebay and am wondering if I can put a 98 jug from a yz400f on my 99wr400f. PArt numbers are off by one. Ideas? Thanks

I think it will fit, i bought a 99 cylinder and installed it on a 98 YZ400F, that was a while back but worked well.. it's the same piston for both bikes so it should fit.. check with your dealer or your shop just to be sure

They are the same. Any 400 cyl fits any 400 motor. Can,t use the 426 cyl though w/o a special piston that makes the motor a 417.
