2006 450 3rd gear jump

hey guys when ihit the double step up with the 2004 450 no problem clearing but with 2006 450 i cant quite clear it. the transmission ratios show same for 2004 and 2006. the jump is about 65 feet. anyone else run into this? thanks larry

The ratios may be the same but the final drive and primary drive gears are not. 3rd gear on the 06 is slightly lower. You may have to drop a tooth on the rear sprocket to compensate!

Uh, you realize the 2006 has a 5-spd, right? The final drive ratios will be different. Plus, internally, I can't believe the ratios are the same...
