Fellas, the ThumperTalk Aluminum kickstand for the DRZ is a go, based upon the prototype on the DRZ475TT project bike. The stand proved to be lite, strong and didn't move an inch when Ryan Orr from Dirt Rider Magazine jumped a set of doubles over and over when testing.

We're now in the phase of making some small tweaks to the design and thereafter we'll be able to determine pricing and a production schedule. We'll keep you posted.

How does it fit with the 17" wheels on it? Can it be adjusted or will
a shorter for the SMs be available?

We believe a single stand will work. The stand we have is short enough for the sm wheels, but long enough so the bike isn't leaning at an extreme angle in dirt trim.

Anyone that has an sm, I need an exact measurement from the ground (level concrete surface) to the lowest point on the bottom of the bike's engine frame cradle. Please PM this info to me.

I won't have the DRZ475 bike in my possesssion for measurements for a few weeks, so this will save us some time getting the stand ready for sale.

Don't know yet. We just got the prototype done for the bike test on Monday. We'll know more later.

how much lighter is the IMS 2.6 gal plastic tank than the stock drz400s metal 2.6 gal tank ? i didn't think the IMS one came in 2.6 size.. i thought it was 3.2 and up.. i stand corrected.. i think i want a 2.6 gal one if it's worth it wgt wise.

IMS does make a 3.2 gallon tank, but it also made the 2.6 tank for the Yosh DRZ race team...hence the name Team Tank... the stock metal tank weighs about the same as the plastic tanks so don't buy one for weight reasons. The 2.6 tank does lower the front of the seat by 3 inches... :applause: which gives the seat a flat ride instead of a backwards sloping ride...The 2.6 tank is a special item so you'll have to call IMS and ask for it... Andrew

This stand is much simplier to build than the ProMotoBillet, internally sprung "kick it" kickstands, so the pricing will reflect that.
