I just ordered stuff to convert my "S" for motard, got the street tires covered but I need tires that'll handle dirt sections at the track. Yes, I did a search (FYI search nazis) and it looks like most SM's are running just paved tracks or street. What are you fellas that run dirt/paved tracks like'n for tires?
Thanks :ride:

What size distanzia's are you guys running? i'm finding 140/80 and 150/70... wish they had a 140/70, cause i don't really want a taller profile tire on the rear...

Most racers run uncut slicks on the dirt. I run Pirelli Super Corsa DOT race tires-more out of convenience than anything. If you think a tire like the Distanza will give you more confidence, go for it. But I think straight up asphalt only tires work fine in the dirt.

FWIW lot's like the Distanza's, but when I tried them, I didn't like the way they handled. JMO :busted:

You are looking at Avon distanzia's in dual sport sizes, different tyre.
SuperMoto sizes are as follows.
Distanzia AM44 (H/V)
150/60R17 66 H 160/60R17 69 H
They are the only rear sizes available according to the Avon website.

I did see that there were two types and that they have a different speed rating but I'm not sure how to apply it to me... What I don't want is a rear tire that last 1000 miles. I am assuming that the SM Distanzia has a softer compound, is this correct? I'm not an aggressive rider on dirt or street, and do most of my riding on street, I just want a tire to do a little better off road than the D208's. Am I a canidate for the regular DS Distanzia or should I stick wiith the SM version?

Thanks!

Yes the supermoto Distanzia's are softer, but will last more than 1000 miles.
They also have less tread to start with.
But you are limited by your rim width.
Details of tyres and rim sizes here.
