Burned (aka Eddie),
The hot cam card specifies valve lash for intake and exhaust. Where is that measured? Cam to rocker? Cam to valve tipet? How is that adjusted? I'm about to start the disassembly portion of the Hot Cam install and wanted to get this posted before I get dirty. Also, the book specifies a Suzuki PN for gasket seal. Can I use a regular high temp gasket sealer?

Thanks...

it measured between the base of the cam lobe and bucket.the lash is adjusted via shims.they sit under the bucket in the spring retainer.

permatex ultra black only in the corners of the half moons on the cover gasket.

Perfect, thanks.

My motor has about 20 hrs on it now. Will I be able to do the install without the shims (should the valve lash clearence still be within spec) or will I need to shim? If so, where do I get these shims? OEM? Aftermarket?

Does the "Hot Cams" shim kit work with stock valves? Do the kits supply a wide range of shims or do you need to know specifically which shims that you need? My bike is new so I do not expect to have to shim for a while...would like to have a shim kit on hand and ready to go if it's feasible.
