does anybody know if you can put one on a 91 xr 600

I believe you can. My stock odometer and cable aon my XR650R appeared to be interchangeable with my brother's 97 XR600.

Yes mine has a sensor and a magnet and you calbrate to wheel size, no cable.

Yes, and they can be adapted to pretty much any bike with a little work even if Trail Tech doesn't list your bike / application. I've installed them on scooters, TR200 FatCat's, XR's, CRF's, WRF's, various ATV's, etc.
