I am not trying to talk you down or anything, but with the release of the aluminum framed yamaha 4 strokes the old steel frame ones arent worth as much as they used to be. Also, kelly blue book value on an '05 YZ450F is $4500. That is the retail value. You should know that when you mod a bike that you are not going to get your money back. I know that you put a lot of money into it but there is no way you are going to get more than $4200-$4400. On top of that, putting the price up so high will turn away a lot of potential buyers.

A little advice....return the bike to stock form, and sell off the individual aftermarket parts by themselves. You'll make back a lot more money. It sux, but he's right, our '05's aren't worth what we'd like to think they are.

Quick question....on the 65 you say a heavier flywheel...where'd you get that and how much heavier is it? How much did it change the power delivery? Would love to smooth out the hit a bit for my daughter on hers.

I feel for your situation....don't give up hope yet, though...can you attend some safety courses around there so the kids get a proper intro into the sport? That might appease the war department. I love this sport and hate to see people running scared from it after an injury. Proper education is the key. Funny how football has more injury to kids that I know but yet nobody expects them to quit.

The flywheel is a stealthy 10oz. I belive. It really takes the big hit off the KX65 and smooths out the power delivery.

I belive I will take the 450 back to stock form if I end up selling it.I really dont want to. My wife did say I could keep it , but I really enjoy ridding with my son. As the week goes by she may change her mind. It took a week last time when I broke my ribs.

A miricle may happen before this is all over. I told my wife the only bike going any where was his old PW 80. After I got a good tounge lashing, I told her she might as well pack up his skates, skateboard, Bicycle, and scooter and keep him from swimming or ridding in the car for the rest of his life since people get hurt or killed every day doing these simple daily activities. He actually admited he was doing a one hander in the air and taking his foot off the peg when he crashed. Mom finally got the big picture, so maybe they will remain in the stable or find a mini warehouse for a month or two.

We shall see, JC
