Probably not as all of the manufacturers are creating specs for the '06 YZ that are not compatible with the '06 WR. But, you can do amazing things these days with bailing wire and coat hangers. Go Ghetto, bro  ...SC

Clark you take this stuff way too seriously.

Anyway, some guy was on here saying once that he had put his friends 06 YZF muffler on his 05 or 06 WR450. Thats why I'm asking. My wife sells Yamaha's and Suzuki's and I could probably come across one pretty cheap. A good yes or no would be sufficiant. The " I assume " answers don't do any good.

AND CLARK, I'd just love to meet a guy who has taken the amount of time and effort to learn as much as you about one bike. Judging by your repy's and other guys I've met that sound like you, I'm betting you didn't get laid much when you were younger. I think I've got you down. Tell me if I'm wrong:

5'6" to 5'9"

little pecker

Let me address your points individually if I may...

If your wife sells Yamaha's, why not consult her? I would think she'd be an authority on the subject, or at least work with someone who is. However, a little elementary deduction would tell me that with the new aluminum frame and completely redesigned geometry, the '06 YZF exhaust wouldn't be compatible with earlier models. Just quickly perusing the FMF site, they have different specs for the 03-05 YZ than for the 06. I would like to stress that I never made an assumption. As we all know, when you do that, you make an "Ass" out of "U" and "Mption."

As far as the bailing wire and coat hanger remark is concerned, where I come from that's called humor.

With regard to my knowledge, yes, I have spent a large amount of time researching everything I can about my bike, as I've boiled all my automotive hobbies down to this one. My wife call's this website Thumper-Porn.

Lastly, with regard to my physical attributes, I was a collegiate-level competitive road cyclist for USC and am currently employed as a Fire Captain for the City of Reno, and part time SCUBA instructor, you can deduce my appearance from there. BTW, you're 7-4 inches shy on my height, so a career on the county fair midway might not be the best idea. Peace   ...SC

I am just wondering if aftermarket pipes made for 2005 WR/YZ 450 will fit on a 2006 WR 450?

Yep. The '05 and '06 WR are pretty much the same bike, except for a few new bells and whistles...SC
