I'd like to get either a JT or Sunstar 15T countershaft sprocket for my '05 xr650r. What part number should I be ordering? The parts unlimited catalog does not show a listing for the 650R, only the 650L.

Thanks,
WC

sprocketspecialists.com carries 13 -16T front sprockets for the 650R. I bought my 16T from them. The fit is great and it is secured just like stock. I've also heard GREAT things about Ironman Sprockets. They make a 15T front.

While you are at get the XR's Only 15T front sprocket. It has an extra mount (rear motor mount) that adds alot of beef to the case saver.

Another vote for Sprocket Specialists. I don't have an XRR, but the fit of the 14T for the XRL is the same as OEM.

The only negative reports I've read on aftermarket countershaft sprockets is that the material may be harder than that of the countershaft itself causing damage to the shaft rather than the sprocket, if and when a failure occurs, which we all know means $$$. OEM would be the safest choice.
