What is the deal with the ball bearings?

The ball bearings actually lock the plates together as the centrifugal force brings the two plates together. Vice versa as you let off the throttle.

I have a Revloc on my '99 400 which has given me no issues since I installed it. Given the price difference ($995 for the Revloc) I would have purchased the Rekluse had they been available when I bought the Revloc. I will say that the Revloc required no adjusting whatsoever. I had a dealer installed mine and haven't touched it (literally) until I tore the motor down this winter for a rebuild.

I liken riding with an automatic clutch as cheating.....it is amazing what you get away with, ... I literally have never stalled my bike since installing the clutch. ?

If you can afford the Rekluse, go out and buy one. 30-day money back guarantee if you hate it (but you won't ? ).

Really can't go wrong there. Gotta love when a company stands behind there product like that. GPR bought a stabalizer back from me after I put one on my bike and hated it. (I know, I'm weird). But much respect to any company that will do that! ?

The Rekluse definaltey kicks ass. The one and only down side I have found is when hillclimbing. If you dont make a hill, which happens to me quite alot, you have no way to lock the rear wheel while trying to bulldog your bike back down to a point where you can jump on and ride er out. I know there is a rear brake lever option, but have not tried a bike with one. Actually, the Rekluse I have ridden is my best friends. I cannot believe how much it improved his riding. Just awesome. I am seriously thinking of putting one on my YZ, the only thing holding me back is the free wheeling rear wheel.

Well, what will the final list of parts include.

The Clutch $399

The adjuster $139

and what else is needed for perfect performance. What is the deal with the ball bearings?

the wr's (at least 03-04) benefit from 5 tungsten carbide balls, replacing 5 of the 30 regulars.they are spaced evenly amongst the 30(every 6th one i think) they make for quicker engagement. rekluse sells them and they are $5 apiece ?

When I was looking into buying mine I called Rekluse and was told the 02 and older bikes didn't really need the tungsten balls, for what reason I don't know. Side note on calling Rekluse, it sure was nice to talk to someone who actually rides and uses the product. ?

Count me in as another believer in the Rekluse. I installed one on my yz400 and love it. I like the way it feeds power out of corners. I like to trail brake and power out of corners and it's awsome. It lays the power down so smoothly that throttle control is no longer as critical. You can even play with overlapping braking and throttle, like the (some) pro's do.

It takes a while to learn all of it's advantages, but you'll love it. It makes riding more fun, which in the end is what it's all about.

I have a Rekluse on my WR426 for the past 3 years with no issues at all. Liked it so much that when I bought my 05 300 EXC I immediately bought a Rekluse for it. I love it on each bike in it's own way. The 300 has a clutch override and it is nice to have with the narrower powerband and all.

I have friends that say "it's not for me" or "it's like you're cheating". I'm like, "cheating who?" I don't race and neither do you." Besides you can classify a lot of mods as cheating if you choose to look at it that way. What about a steering damper for example, or flex bars, or anything that makes riding easier?

Bottomline, I love it and would equip all my bikes with one. ?

is this a product for motocross racing, or just off road? it seems everyone who uses this rides off road.

Actually I have heard it is breaking into the racing circuit. Picture this, at the start of a race you click it into second and when the gate drops you pin the throttle and smoke everyone into the first turn ?

I have a Rekluse on my 01 WR. The thing is amazing. It really shines in tough slow and go single track and in nasty rocks. I'll put one on all future bikes I own.

I don't buy the it's cheating or having to clutch makes you a better rider stuff. With this clutch I can attack harder trails with a bit more confidence. But this clutch won't keep the bike online or turn and brake for you. It's still the rider that does that. It just gives me more options when attacking the nasty stuff.

With the perch adjuster you can still have a clutch lever that works. It's just that you really don't need it that often. It is a great fit for the type of riding I do and bike I have. I can see the day when it will be a factory option or even stock.

No, it can be used for mx. The clutch comes with two engagement springs, one for off-road, the other for MX. Brian Wilson, my business partner has raced ameteur arena X with the clutch and loves it.

Here is a question. Normally when I am in a very tight turn (example: 90 degree turn around a tree and the trail is 1' wide) I clutch to get the rpm's up (Usually 2nd gear) and when I get to the apex of the turn I dump and shoot out. How does the rekluse do that? In this senario I am keeping my RPM's up so that when I dump the clutch I have immediate torque to shoot out. Does the Rekluse give you that same torque in the low RPM.

I hope I am articulating this so that yall can understand the question??

the rekluse slips up to and just past the engagement speed. this is adjustable with the tension on the 2 different springs. it really puts the power to the ground in such a way that its hard to spin the wheel in situations like that. unless you set the engagement speed very low, blipping the throttle at low speeds will just slip the clutch instead of spin the wheel. i use the heavy spring with light adjustment (which is about middle of the road) and find the perch adjuster is needed in cases like that(if you can remember to use it!) i've found though that the more i ride with the rekluse the less i actually use the clutch lever and am adapting to letting it do its thing, like in that situation you described you can work the throttle smoothly picking up the front of the bike and throwing it around the tree,it sounds kinda scary but once you master this clutch you can do some pretty amazing low speed tricks that were basically impossible before. ? in fact i'm seriously considering the rear brake system they offer and maybe just fitting a small lever on the clutch just for finding neutral while the bikes running, and starting in gear in a race(thats basically all i find myself using the lever for lately) it takes about 1 season of riding to fully understand this clutch but the more you learn the faster you go ?
