What's up with XR's Only?

In early January I place an Internet order with XR's only. I waited for my goodies to arrive and after a couple of weeks I called them to check on my order. They told me my order was pending because they show no record of payment so I gave them my credit card, this time, over the phone. I waited about a week and a half and called to check on my order since I still did not receive it and they told me my order didn't ship because the front sprocket I ordered was out of stock. I said ship the order without it. I just called today and guess what...my order did not ship. So I just canceled the order.

What really blows me away was the attitude of just not caring. It seems they are doing so well they just don't need my business or the employees working there just don't care.

Anyway, really disappointing and I'm sure Al Baker would be rolling over in his grave if he knew this was the way his company does business now.

I still can't believe they don't have any form of online ordering. You know how many more customers they would have and time they would save? it's not even that expensive to set up.

First of all, they DO have online ordering, I have an order pending with them as I type this out that was placed online.

There where questions on my order as far as colors of items and one backorder, they called me the same day I placed my order and again a few days later with another question and to confirm my order status.

The telephone support I have found to be outstanding! I have never had a vendor call me in this manner.

Now, i have not yet received my order, I would expect it sometime this week so i cannot yet vouch for that aspect of it.

So far my experience with them (this is my first order through them) has been exemplary.

It is unfortunate you had such a poor experience with them. I really do not understand how it happens that one guy can get completely hosed by a company, and the next is treated like gold.

I've had nothing but good experiences with them. I even called them once and questioned about the judder spring/seat setup in the clutch as I forgot how it went in. The guy took the time to go out to the shop and open up a setup for me(no tech's were in) and gave me the low down on the phone. Now that's service. I must say I do read A LOT of unhappy posts about them....I'd say luck of the draw..?

I agree, there service is lacking. I ordered some footpegs and it took a long time to get them. I got many excuses for the delay but they finally arrived. I did not get a good impression working with them.

I don't really like their website, and how they use paypal the way they do. But, I have to say, I have ordered from the three times & never had a problem. I have never ordered anything that was out of stock, but I have gotten my orders within a week every time.

I've had three orders so far and the service was just OK. They screwed up a little on one thing but it wasn't major. All in all I would give them a c+.

Placed an order with them a few weeks ago, package was by the front door the next day. Guess it's hit or miss.

I agree with agent2 on the hit or miss thing. Sometimes you just have to judge based on how a company deals with their mistakes.

I've had only one transaction with Xrs only and it went like this:

Ordered Uni filter and some oil. 10 days later no delivery. Called to make sure it was sent, got the uh let me look oh, ah, um, hmmm yeah, we see you placed the order, hmmm, ahh, well it looks like it was voided. Did you do it over the computer? "no, I did it over the phone" Oh, well would you like to reorder now? " well that depends, are you gonna send it or just void the order again and not let me in on it?"

In order to make it right they offered 10% off, hey it's all about the money so I reordered. The stuff got here in about 4 days. Oops they sent the wrong filter oil. Another call, another uh, hmmm, lets see oh yeah you're right sorry, we'll send the right stuff this time.

Anyway, the bottom line is they never balked at doing the right thing, it's just a little frustrating. Will I ever order again? Probably.

My advice is if you do business with them, just stay on top of it and put in a follow up call in a day or two to make sure it all went to plan. Just my 2 cents worth.

The way I deal with companies is I always call by end of business or the following day of when I placed my order and ask for a tracking number. This way, YOU know it's being shipped and is coming to you. While you've got them, confirm the order.

I placed an order with them on line and used pay pal. two weeks and no order and no communication. I finally called and it seemed like they were very disorganized. I eventually got to talk with someone and they said that they did not ship because they were waiting on the skid plate. I canceled the skid plate and asked for the remainder of the items to ship. 3 1/2 weeks later my stuff arrived. I am sure that they are a good company but they need to develop a protocol on service.

I have never used XR's only, what is so special about them? Prices, products not available through anyone else, knowledge....?

There is nothing overly special that i am aware of. i probably could have piece-mealed my order together on individual items cheaper at other sites, but then i would have had multiple shipping charges. So for me, it worked out to be more cost effective to make one large order. XR's had all the stuff i was looking for in one spot.

I would prefer to patronize local shops, and i do for some things, but the damned sales tax here is 8.25% and they are tlaking about piling on another penny (and it will probably pass  ) so i do the online thing ALOT.

They're XR specialist/enthusiasts. It's nice to have a company out there that still cares about the bikes and realizes their potential...unlike Honda USA.

Bought from them twice and it was not that great an experience, so I have not been back. Seems like a lot of people get treated poorly by XRs Only, probably should forward this thread to them.

If they respond to it like they do some of their customer base it will be an exercise in futility...lol.
