Hey there

Well my project is underway for adding electric start to my XR600.

I have attached some photos of the mock up - I confirmed Friday night all the 650L engine cases etc bolt straight on!!!

Anyway I need a favor from the 650L guys - can one of you look at where your starter motor bolts onto the engine case and tell me if the 2 holes it uses in the engine case go all the way into the motor or are they just only about 5-7mm deep?

Thanks heaps!!!

The parts fiche located here
http://www.bikebandi...t_id~170752.asp
shows 2 of the following mounting down into the crankcase: a 18: BOLT, FLANGE (6X55).

A cursory measurement on my 97 L shows about 40 mm above the case. That would mean that the bolts go about 15 mm down into the case.

Hope this helps.
