What's an '01 426 worth?

I'm thinking about adding another 426 to my garage. The bike's in good shape but I wonder what it's worth from you guys, not kellybluebook.com

I bought a bone stock 2000 for a friend last summer for $1600. Granted, I got a deal, and yours is a years newer, so I would think $2000 should be pretty close.

I just bought my bone stock 01 426 for $2400. Best $2400 I ever spent. It was never raced and was a one owner bike. Love rding it... Scares the hell out of me sometimes though. ?

$2,500 to $3,300 about right....got mine for 3k in 2005....great bike...no issues...Love the power....however, as it was said...It scares me at times too! ?

I feel you have to go off of kelly blue book as that is the standard for the bike. If its in good condition and was well taken care of then why not pay what is right for the bike? It totally depends on where you live as well. I just bought an 2001 426 here in CA that was imaculate for $3000, which might be high to most of you but it was a fair price according to blue book. I take the low and the high and then consider those prices as well into how good of condition the bike is in. I don't feel you should low ball a person that has taken good care of their bike, but that's just my opinion. ?

I bought my 2001 426 for $2000 bucks even. It has an oversize tank on it, it HAD brand new pirelli tires on it and a factory effex graphics kit. EBAY is the way to go.

I've had my '01 for sale for several months now. Asking $2600 and have had no bites. Mine's in excellent shape too.

I just purchased my first '02' 426 and man what a ride it scares me to no end, when you grab a hand full that thing will bout buck me off on any terrain. I got a pretty good deal on mine for just 2,400 bucks. I think it matters what its worth to you and how bad you really want it. if i had to do it all over again I probably would have paid more for it considering how much i love this machine.

I paid $3200 for my 01 426 in December of 05. That might seem high but I looked at a LOT of bikes before I bought this one and I feel I got a fair deal on an almost new bike. This thing didn't hardly have any scratches on the frame next to the pegs. MY friends that went with me to pick it up couldn't believe how nice it was.

I'm happy with it.

i bought my 02 426 in august of 05 for 2400 bucks. It was the best looking one i saw for sale...the guy was old and just putzed around on it i guess. Looks like it was hardly ever used

bikes on the west coast seem to bring more than those in the mid-west or east. I see many 01 426's going for about $3k in CA. You bought now go ride it. In the end that is what will determine if it was a good deal.

Sorry man, I didn't mean to say you were low balling people. I was just trying to convey that I feel people should pay the right price for a bike that is in good condition. I bought my '02 426 for $3200 in January '05. Pretty good deal on it. Had the usual wear and tear but it was the cleanest I found. Good maintenance record.

I bought mine at the end of 05 for 1400.00 from ebay. The thing was ugly with spray painted plastic and a couple of other items that needed to be replaced but figured the price was right. Expected to have to rebuild the engine but it checked out fine. Put about 200.00 into it and it is in excellent shape now. Best money I spent. And yes, I have been caught off gaurd by it and it is scary!

I just bought my 2001 wr 426 for $2600 off ebay auction. The bike is in great condition, but I think it wasnt maintained quite the way it could have been as the owner claimed. When I get my service manuall I plan on a complete service from adjusting the valves to changing the oil in the shocks and probally greasing bearings. I already changed oil and filter that was way over due.

Just got back from my first official offroad drive in the sand dunes and the bike is acting very solid with enough power that I know im not gonna outgrow ever. In fact the knobby on the back which is at 80%, obviously isnt getting the job done at all, im gonna get a new knobby right away.

The suspension is in great shape to as I jumped off one jump and landed on the next one going up ? , And the shocks took my 210 pound body like nothing

Bottom line is my bike is in great shape with low hours and is ready to hit the trails. I think I got a good deal. But with dirt bikes, it really depends on who was riding it, and how many miles are on it. What kind of shape is it in.

Look at the price for a new big stroke ? Oh just about forgot, I stopped by the local dealer and looked at there beat up used bikes. They wanted $3800 for a 2002 crf250 that looked like it was rode hard and put up wet

I just bought my 2000 426 for 2000. I needed brakes, and some standard maintenance but I'm really happy with it. I've always wanted this bike so I feel really good about it. You should love the bike b/c a couple hundred bucks won't really matter when you're in the woods diggin' in or jumpin' high on the track. That's my opinion.
