I've decided not to invest the money in a rad valve setup just yet.  From what I can gather it is much better than the VForce.  But I'm looking at just upgrading the reeds for now.  I'm pretty much set on Boyesen at this point.  Who has either the pro or power reeds in their yz250?  And if you do what if any differences have you felt?  Also was there any jetting changes needing to be made?  Thanks

If I remember correctly one reed is carbon fibre, one is fiberglass.   I only bought the carbon ones.    They work very well. I cannot compare them to the stock set-up as my stockers were burned/broken.

I got a set of Power Reeds(fiberglass) along with my 02 YZ250.. After riding it a couple times I decided to put them in for kicks since they were free. My impression is the bike has more bottom and midrange than before. I dropped one size on the pilot as per instructions on the Boyesen web site and experimented with different main jets.. still haven't found the perfect jetting combo yet but I think i'll go back to stock on the main and drop the needle one click and try that..
As far as the $22 it cost for the Power reeds.. It's a no-brainer.. Other riders noticed the improvement in my bike as well...
I just recently switched from a KX500 to the YZ250 so the Power Reeds are a welcome improvement.. I may even jump up to the whole cage config one day..
Hope this helps.....

I run nothing but G3's on my 2-stroke quads. 1 Dir Racing sells them, call William at 858-679-3288 These reeds and cages have been the best performance gain I have ever bolted on. I have tried them all, I have two V-Force YZ250 style reeds for sale Cheap..

This is from Boyesen's website:

Q: What advantage do Pro Series Reeds have over Power Reeds?

A: Pro Series dual-stage reeds combine a carbon-fiber top reed with a fiberglass bottom reed for unrivaled performance. The Pro Series Reeds are more responsive than our traditional Power Reeds. The carbon-fiber top reed has excellent response characteristics that provide even quicker acceleration, stronger throttle response, and more over-rev than our standard Power Reeds. The fiberglass bottom reed provides stability and longer reed life.

My experiance is that it is pretty much on the mark.  IF you can afford the difference I'd say it's worth it.
