YZF and WR CDI units interchangeable?

I'm attempting to put an '02 YZF 426 motor into a '01 WR 426. I'm not getting a spark. The wiring plug on the YZF motor and the WR CDI fit into each other but are they compatible? I know they have different part #'s, but should it work, and do I have another problem?

Not positive on the 425 but the wr 250f and the yz are NOT interchangeable. I put a wr ignition on my yz for the lighting and had to put the wr cdi box on to geta spark. I tried with the yz, would not work.

Will a '99 year YZF CDI work with a '02 YZF motor?
