Saw a little blub in Dirt Rider about this. Very interesting.

It was also good to finally read some definitive answers towards neck injuries.

In the article they address what I think many other manufactures have failed to. They are:

Hyperflexion: overflexion of the head when forced forward.

Hyperextension: overflexion of the head when forced to rear.

Lateral hyperflexion: overflexion of the head when forced to the side.

Axial loading: compression of the spinal column due to the effect of force on the helmet.

Ring or neck collars seem to address one to two of these areas, but nothing really seems to address all of them, or in a matter that made me fell completely comfortable or confident that I was properly protected.

It would seem that this, in combination with a good back ridge, would just about cover you when it comes to addressing injuries associated with paralysis (well, it's not a perfect world, but better than nothing).

Take some time to look over the whole site - there's some good information on there.

And yes, I'm going to make sure this reaches a few other forums.
