R or L best for Street Motard Conversion

Recommended Posts

I have a L (and sv 650) and agree with the R guys that for faster street playing R is a better choice. After being used to a street bike (and my sv is no rocket in that territory) L is sluggish - tons of fun in the righ element but R will be faster.

I personally mighgt consider the Husqvarna TE610 - sure it is more expensive than Honda, but it is already street legal, kicks serious butt, has 6 speed box etc.

There is existing supermoto version which would save you a lot in mods. Unless the modding is the point of your hobby it might be worth a look.

[snip]....Handlebar weights, I suppose I'm clueless on this point ? , as in stuffing your bars with lead?

Yeah. My hands start getting tingley/numbish after while at 80mph. My throttle hand especially. Lower than stock gearing would prolly help that a lot too.

They make weight inserts for handlebars (many or most? streetbikes have bar-end weights from the factory) and I've read about pumping the bars full of silicone. Do a search and you should find something on that...

This works great for me.

I have one in every bike that I own.
