Has anyone contacted the guy? It's gotta be a typo.

I bet it's not a typo, and he is just basing the ridiculous price on the fact that it's next to impossible to get a CA plate on an 06 WR450. Doesn't make it worth that much, but some people are like that.

 pardon my lack of knowlage about CA laws, but why is it impossible to get a plate on a wr in CA? and how do those certain few slip through the cracks?

There's a guy in SoCal that will plate any bike for $1400 which includes the dual sport kit. http://www.californi....com/index.html

Even the 01-02 426 fails that test

OK, I guess I should have cut and pasted his whole schtick-

We are able to acquire a genuine California
license plate for most green sticker-ed dirt
bikes registered in the state of California. That
goes for pre 1997 or true green sticker 1997
and later - those without a 3 or C in the 8th
digit of the VIN), Red or Green Sticker.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO "PLATE" YOUR
BIKE IS NOTED BELOW...

Read this a couple of time's-

That
goes for pre 1997 or true green sticker 1997
and later - those without a 3 or C in the 8th

The 01/02 426 was a grandfathered green sticker, that yes-doe's have the dreaded 3/C in the vin and some have got these plated. What I was saying, is if you have a 03 or later bike with the 3/C in the eigth position-your'e screwed as far as getting a plate in CA. Especially once it is in the CA DMV database as "Off Highway".

That is unless your'e determined old cuss like myself.

I guess there is no harm in dreaming or fantasizing what your bike is worth. I bet the owner is still wondering why no one called on his bike.
