Yes I am blue at heart - can you tell?

I figured since i have been posting over here a lot lately I would share my love for all things blue with you guys.

It has been the weapon of choice in supermoto for the last few years, but I suspect that may change with the release of the new YZF.

My fist supermoto was (and still is) a 2001 WR426F, it is in the process of being redone as we speak.

I almost have all of my parts and custom work complete and will certainly post pictures when I am done with her so you can all see.

I was forced to go with the CRF because thats what was working in 03 when I bought it new, but as you can see I immediately turned it blue much to the behest of the red crowd, this bike never saw the race track in red, and I raced it in the inaugural AMA supermoto race at Laguna Seca in blue, it was a hit.

So here she is, and I must say she is bad ass so please don't hurt her feelings by bashing her because shes had a makeover and was red at one time....one very short time.

Teamscream, that first picture is bad azz. Cool enough that I dumped Chad Reed wallpaper for your picture. I have to admit I wasn't a big supermoto fan until last year when I went to the copper mountain supermoto. Awesome racing and awesome pictures.

Sick ride! That looks awsome! Even though it IS a honda. It may be blue on the outside but whats on the inside is what counts. BTW how much did you spend anodizeing all those parts?

It cost me about $500.00 to do everything, the frame, swing arm, handlebars and triples, kick starter, brake lever, all the motor mounts etc.

I had a lot of stuff polished first which makes a huge difference when anodizing stuff.

As long as the part is NOT cast aluminum but rather forged or billet like the hubs, or extruded like the rims (before they are made round) then they are good candidates for polish then anodize which in the case of the rims and hubs makes them look like blue chrome instead of flat blue which is what you get if you don't polish parts first.

I did all of the shock linkage, the forks, shock body, axle blocks, front wheel axle nut, the carrier on my front rotor, the radiators are anodized blue (sick looking by the way).

Don't worry, I wont be letting you blue guys down with the 426 (446).

the frame and swing arm are powder coated black, the sub frame is anodized black, the wheels are exactly like the ones on my CRF (Blue) (Talon hubs/Excel wheels - 5" rear) the forks are anodized black as is the shock body, the cylinder and head on the motor are powder coated "anthracite" which is just like the original color of the stock Yamaha cases and engine covers only a little bit darker, BUT , all the engine covers and right side case are powder coated black, the valve cover is powder coated blue, all of the water pipes and the little oil pipe that feeds oil to the cylinder head are powder coated blue, shock spring is powder coated blue.

The bike has 05 plastic and is street legal in Cali, the rear (WR) fender and headlight assembly are at ZLT right now getting custom graphics made to look as close to the TeamScream design you see on the CRF, my buddy is making a custom seat cover like the one on the CRF and I ordered up a custom Trick Dual Sport system so that i can keep the WR headlight/number plate set up and NOT go with the UFO one he sells (I like the shape of the WR one way better).

All in all I think it will be one bad ass looking WR-446F when its done, especially since I just won the GYTR full titanium/carbon fiber system on ebay last week and it arrived yesterday.

I will be picking up the frame from the powder coater on Tuesday since I had to have it re-powder coated after I got it back the first time.....I got a little ambitious and tried to use that Herculiner stuff to protect the bottom part of the frame and the down tube below the headstock that gets beat up by road debris and it didn't turn out as bitchen as I wanted it to so I sent the frame back for a re coat.

I did anodize the kick starter, and the brake lever blue just like i did on the CRF as well as all the shock linkage crap, and I put (blue anodized) 20mm RG3 triples on for good measure as well.

I think to finish it all off once I get it all put back together I may try to get a set of 48mm Kayabas up front but that will be after the summer comes and go's.

Thats about it, the assembly stage will take place once I get the frame back Tuesday so I should have it together in a couple of weeks.

?? . You missed one thing. The clutch cover still says honda! You could get an aftermarket clutch cover for like $140.... and why no pics of the left side of the bike?

This left side picture is prior to me changing out and going the with Magura Radial caliper set up, (which is shown in the 2nd picture down) and the RG3 clamps and suspension goods.

You will never look back.

You can lace up a set of 17" rims to stock hubs for about $600.00 and then switch back and forth when you want to hit the dirt.
