Yamaha part numbers are almost identical except the letters at the beginning. I want to buy the Boyesen Factory Racing cover for my 426 but they say the 450 cover doesnt fit. I would leave it at that except I am finding websites that sell the Boyesen cover and they list it for the 426 which in turn happens to be the same part number as the 450. So now I dont know what to think :applause: Im sure someone here can give me some insite on this.... For those who have owned both 426 and 450, Do you notice any difference??? Thanks

The part number for the clutch cover of an '02 YZ250, 5MW-15415-00-00, is also only different in the first 3 digits. All 15415's are "generator covers" (DO NOT ask me why they call it that) The last for digits are there for sizes and revisions. The first 3 determine what bike it fits. The 5MW-15415-00-00, 5JG-15415-00-00, and 5TA-15415-00-00 are three different parts.

Thanks for clearing that up grayracer. So I guess that it must be a missprint on the website.

FYI easiest way to see if a cover could fit is to check the gasket. If they are the same, then the size and bolt pattern is the same. Depth may be different.

Good point :applause: But I already compared the Gasket part # between the 450 and 426, they are both different. It could still be worth while getting a 450 gasket in my hands and see for myself.
